About Us
About Midlands Direct Cremation
Local funeral care,
centred on people
We are a family-run, independent funeral provider supporting families across the Midlands, Staffordshire and South Derbyshire with dignity, compassion and clear guidance.
Independent funeral care
A personal service from people who understand
Midlands Direct Cremation was created to give families a dignified local alternative to large national cremation providers.
Although our funeral options are simple and clearly priced, the care behind them is thorough and personal. Your loved one is looked after locally by experienced funeral professionals, and your family has a real person to speak with whenever guidance is needed.
We serve communities across the Midlands, Staffordshire and South Derbyshire, arranging unattended direct cremations, private chapel farewells and traditional crematorium services.
Our promise to every family
Simple choices should never mean less care
“Every person entrusted to us is treated with the same dignity, care and respect we would expect for a member of our own family.”
Our commitment
What families can expect from us
Calm, capable support and a standard of care that remains personal from the first telephone call to the return of the ashes.
Keeping Loved Ones Local
Your loved one remains in the Midlands and is cared for by our own professional funeral team, not transferred to a distant national facility.
People, Not Call Centres
When you telephone us, you speak directly with experienced funeral professionals who understand the arrangements and your local area.
Dignity at Every Stage
A simple funeral never means a reduced standard of care. Every person is treated with respect from the moment they come into our care.
Clear, Honest Guidance
We explain the choices, costs and next steps in plain language, giving families time to decide without pressure or hidden surprises.
Care close to home
Your loved one remains in local, professional care
We do not move people to distant facilities or pass arrangements to an anonymous national provider.
Our own funeral team remains responsible for the care and practical arrangements. Cremations take place locally, helping families feel reassured that the person who has died remains close to home throughout.
- Local transfer by our funeral team
- Care by experienced funeral professionals
- Cremation at a local crematorium
- Prompt return or respectful scattering of ashes
Care at every stage
One local team, from first call to final arrangements
You do not need to understand the funeral process before contacting us. We will explain each step and take care of the practical details.
The First Conversation
We listen, answer your questions and explain what needs to happen next.
Coming Into Our Care
Our local team brings your loved one safely into our care from a hospital, care home or private residence.
Personal Arrangements
A funeral professional completes the paperwork and keeps you informed throughout.
After the Cremation
We arrange for the ashes to be returned promptly, or respectfully scattered if that is your preference.
Time to say goodbye
Peaceful chapels for private reflection
Families may arrange to visit their loved one in one of our peaceful chapels of rest, giving you time for a quiet and private goodbye.
Chapel visits are arranged by appointment. A fee of £80 applies, and our team will explain the available locations and make the arrangements with care.
